Herbalism 101: Understanding Cultural and Scientific Classifications

In This Class, You Will Learn:

  • The histories of herbal medicine from around the world

  • The sciences associated with herbal medicine

  • Folk medicine and intuitive remedy-making vs scientific, evidence-based making

  • Brief overview of human anatomy and the associations with herbal energetics

  • The basics of materia medicas and how to determine high-quality resources

This class is intended for those interested in:

  • Integrative and functional health

  • Herbal and traditional medicine

  • Those who want to make their own remedies

  • Science and folk herbalism


No prior medical or herbal training is required. This is the beginning of Sacred Spirit Herbals' 101 classes, which will continue monthly this year to help you get started with your own herbal remedies and traditions!


This workshop is provided by Sacred Spirit Herbals on a donation-based rate, in order to keep the information affordable for everyone. Please donate however much you wish (or can afford). Cash, venmo, and cashapp transfers are all accepted.
